Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom, working under the Beeline brand, has acquired 100 percent of the voting shares in regional operator Samara Telecom from Vimpelcom, the controlling shareholder of Beeline. The acquisition was carried out in order to optimise the corporate structure.

A prominent investment analyst has cast serious doubt on the ability of 5G technology to live up to the hype.
